What Grand Lake does to a dog’s coat
Grove dogs have a specific set of coat problems, and they are not the same ones a city dog has.
Lake water and matting. A dog who swims all summer and then dries in the sun without being brushed out will mat, especially doodles and anything with a soft undercoat. Mats tighten as they dry. By the time you can see them, the coat underneath is already pulling.
Burrs, seeds, and brush. Dogs that run pasture and treeline pick up grass seeds that work down into the coat and, in bad cases, into the skin between the toes. This is worth a look every time your dog comes back from a long run outside.
Summer shave requests. We get asked for these constantly around June, and for double coated dogs the answer is usually no. Shaving a double coat does not cool a dog down. Winter and the drive home. In cold months, ask us to fully dry your dog before pickup rather than sending them out damp.

Booking around a boarding stay
Grove does grooming and boarding in the same building, so a groom on the last day of a boarding stay is easy to arrange. Your dog comes home clean instead of smelling like a great vacation.
Groom slots and boarding slots are booked separately, so ask for both when you make the reservation rather than the morning of pickup.
