Who we are
PetSquad (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates this website at https://petsquad.com and provides pet services including boarding, grooming, walking, day care, drop-ins, house sitting, transport, and bathing.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [your contact email] or through the contact form on our website.
Information we collect
When you book a service, fill out a form, or otherwise interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact information: name, phone number, email address, mailing address
- Pet information: pet name, breed, age, medical or behavioral notes, vet contact, and any care instructions you provide
- Service details: the services you request, dates, locations, and access instructions
- Payment information: processed securely through our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers on our servers
- Communications: records of messages, calls, or texts between you and PetSquad
- Website data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and similar technical information collected through cookies and analytics (see Cookies section below)
If you leave a comment on our blog, we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus your IP address and browser user agent string for spam detection.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Schedule, confirm, and deliver the pet services you book
- Communicate with you about appointments, service updates, billing, and account matters
- Send SMS / text message notifications and reminders if you have opted in (appointment confirmations, schedule changes, updates while we’re caring for your pet)
- Respond to questions, feedback, and customer support requests
- Process payments and maintain billing records
- Improve our website, services, and customer experience
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
SMS / text messaging
If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to text messages — either on our website, on a booking form, or by texting us directly — we may send you SMS messages related to your service (appointment reminders, scheduling, updates about your pet, and replies to your questions).
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your activity with us. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, or get help by replying HELP.
SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number, mobile opt-in information, or SMS consent with any third party or affiliate for their marketing purposes. This applies regardless of how you provided consent (web form, booking, in person, or by text).
Who we share your information with
We share personal information only as needed to operate our business, and never for third-party marketing. Categories include:
- Service providers we rely on to run PetSquad — for example, our scheduling/booking platform, payment processor, email/SMS delivery providers, and hosting provider. These vendors are contractually limited to using your information only to provide services to us.
- Our pet care staff — team members and contractors who need pet, scheduling, or access information to provide your service.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PetSquad, our customers, or others (including in a veterinary emergency).
- Business transfers — if PetSquad is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your phone number or SMS opt-in for third-party marketing.
If you request a password reset for a website account, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out, the login cookies are removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website. These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with it if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
How long we retain your data
We retain customer and pet information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion at any time (see “Your rights” below).
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Your rights
You can:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or update your information
- Ask us to delete your information (subject to records we’re legally required to keep)
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link
- Opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP
To make a request, contact us at [your contact email].
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Customer and booking data is processed by the vendors described in “Who we share your information with.”
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated through the website or by email where appropriate.
